Letter: Murder the price we pay to remain a free society

Let me be clear. I abhor the taking of human life by another person.

Every time there is another high-profile or mass shooting in the U.S., the clamor begins for more gun control. Gun control will not stop murder. Localities with strict gun control such as Chicago have some of the worst murder rates. One who is intent on the taking of life does not care how many laws he breaks. And he will find a way to obtain a gun(s), even if all guns were outlawed.

Democrats are the first to cry, and they cry the loudest for gun control when mass shootings occur. Yet, it was under the Obama administration that bump stocks were approved.

There wasn’t anything in the Las Vegas shooter’s life in the way of gun control that would have prevented the massacre.

A medical examiner inspected Paddock’s brain to determine why he shot all those people. That’s ignorance! You won’t find the problem in any physical part of the human body. It’s in man’s evil heart.

As men grow more evil, more murder can be expected. Murder is the price we pay to possess weapons and remain a free society.
