Letter: What has been missed
I see all these young men promoting Hitler and all he stood for back east and I wonder what it is that I missed?
I’ve been a history reader all my life and everything I’ve read says Hitler was a very bad man and did some very bad things. In the book Rise and Fall of the Third Reich, author William L. Shirer brings out what Hitler had in mind for Europe, Asia and America and it wasn’t good.
Those who promote Hitler in today’s world evidently have never read the history of WWII .
And there’s the discussion about pure Americans and how bad all the other ethnic groups are.
In America today, it would be hard to find a pure American; it can’t be done as we are a mixture of all types.
Again, as I read history, I remember how black people, Indians, Spanish, Jews and every other ethnic group put on uniforms and fought — and in many cases died — for this country and in doing so earned the rights for their respective group as full citizens.
