Letter: Democrats revel themselves with double standard

I have now witnessed the changing of the Democratic Party.

Years ago when the liberal ACLU defended the rights of Nazis and other racist groups, the Democrats defended the liberal ACLU. Now I read they want the liberal ACLU to do different.

The Democrats no longer believe in free speech and freedom of assembly or the right to own property (statues). In this United States of America, the First Amendment secures those rights whether we agree with the content or not.

I still remember the days that people would say “I don’t agree with anything you say, but I will defend your right to say it.” I can’t think of anyone I know that agrees with or condones the Nazis.

And for the left to try to blame the recent happenings on Trump and Trump supporters is outrageous and a bag of outright lies. The days of Democrats transferring their racism to other groups is over. It is now out there for everyone to see.
