Letter: Hatcher a complete package
It’s seldom we get two highly qualified candidates running for the same elected office. This year that’s the case when we vote for the Benton County sheriff.
Sheriff Jerry Hatcher and Kennewick police Sgt. Ken Lattin are top notch law enforcement professionals, but we must pick one. We’ve looked at both candidates and concluded that Sheriff Jerry Hatcher will get our votes.
These are tough times with complex law enforcement situations that seldom have clear solutions even for the most experienced leaders.
For us, experience and formal training were the deciding factors in favor of Hatcher. Sheriff Hatcher is broadly endorsed by law enforcement leaders across Washington. His education and training specific to law enforcement, exceeding 8,000 hours, prepare him well to continue to serve as our Benton County sheriff.
Lastly, his demonstrated commitment to public service in law enforcement, during 28 years, are extraordinary. We will be marking our ballots for Sheriff Hatcher. Please join us.
