Letter: What’s wrong with liberals

What is wrong with liberals in this country? When our president states the obvious “that both sides” are at fault in the violence that erupted at Charlottesville, he is ridiculed and demeaned. His statements reflected a true observation of the violent actions by both radical alt-right supporters and race baiters like the BLM and other similarly aligned groups that are occurring.

Yet the media condemns him and demands he choose sides.

If you do not believe that white supremacists want more power and, equally, radical black and brown race groups seek it too, then you are a fool. It’s simple — we all should be judged and offered opportunity equally, based on our character and our accomplishments. No matter your race, creed, color, sex or religion.

That, unfortunately, doesn’t make news or collect votes at the ballot box for either side. End affirmative action and existing race- and gender-based opportunity bias and replace it with simple common sense — you get what you work for and earn. Nothing more, nothing less.

Until we all quit pandering to individual groups to simply garner votes for “our side,” we will continue to promote racial and cultural divisions in our country.
