Letter: Monterey would be a fresh voice for Richland

Jess Monterey is the breath of fresh air that the Richland City Council needs.

With the current political climate being as contentious as it is, we need strong leaders, like Ms. Monterey, who are devoted to building consensus and community. Jess has a proven track record of advocating for those most vulnerable in our communities, but she is just as passionate about the larger issues that face Richland and the greater Tri-Cities area. Community safety, economic vitality, and strong public schools are just a few of the issues she is passionate about.

Jess has the rare ability to sit with any audience and not only hear their concerns, but also truly listen. Rarer still, Jess possesses the necessary creative problem-solving skills required of those who excel in public office. I believe Jess’ unique skill set and genuine concern for the people of Richland sets her apart from her competition.

Please vote for Jess Monterey for Richland City Council, Position No. 1.
