Letter: Replace seasonal workers with people on unemployment or welfare

I understand the need for seasonal workers, but I ask, why can’t those on unemployment or welfare fill those positions? The jobs are called positions for “unskilled labor.” Unions are complaining, yet here locally the union halls can’t man projects due to lack of employees.

We, the USA, have put such a push on higher education that nobody wants to dig a hole. Let’s make them and learn again the pride in a hard day’s work!
