Letter: New education secretary did not do her homework
Betsy DeVos is unfamiliar with the Individuals with Disabilities in Education Act, a federal law. She did not understand the difference between measuring student achievement by growth versus proficiency. For someone wanting to be the secretary of education, she sure did not do her homework.
If this is the best wealth, privilege, and private schools can provide, I am thankful that I grew up poor with a public education.
