Letter: Critical need for community support of Enterprise Week
Imagine if every senior could learn what it is like to be a businessperson and team-playing employee before they leave High School? Pasco Schools, for 17 years now, has been giving students exactly that opportunity with Enterprise Week.
This is a volunteer-led effort held at the TRAC, this year Nov. 28-Dec. 2. Students from all the high schools, nearly 900 this year, grouped into companies where they develop a product, human resources manual, marketing plan, website and more. The whole event culminates in a trade show on Friday.
There is a critical need for community support of this amazing opportunity because the student teams are facilitated by business people. Volunteers are provided with training and orientation. The week-long facilitation of a team can be shared. You can do this and still run your business. Volunteers are also needed as judges for the marketing presentations Thursday and trade show on Friday.
I have been an Enterprise volunteer for years. You will learn and grow as much as the students do! Join me and see young people blossom into business people as the week progresses!
