Letter: Cooperation is the missing key to progress
Any major legislation considered by Congress must include input from the opposition party. President Obama wasn’t helping anyone early in his administration, when in response to Republican ideas on how to improve the economy, stated “I won the election, I’ll trump you on that.” (An ironic choice of words nearly 8 years later.)
No political party has a monopoly on good ideas, and ignoring your political opponents invites obstructionism.
