Letter: Both presidential candidates and third-party options are deplorable
No viable candidates are running in this unprecedented election. Hillary Clinton is a corrupt money-grubber who panders to the audience du jour. The content of her much-talked-about emails is far more telling than her decision to use an unsecured server. She is the stereotypical politician who promises everything to everyone and will only deliver to the highest bidder — without regard to promoting the general welfare.
Donald Trump is a fiscally irresponsible scam artist and admitted sexual abuser who promises to work for America, but has shown no evidence of working for anyone but “The Donald.” Oddly enough, despite his sexual proclivity for forcing women into acquiescing, he seems to have the vote of people who, a few months ago, were certain that rapists posing as transgenders were lurking in every public restroom.
Both candidates are deplorable, as are the third-party options. From progressives to “values voters,” Americans need to stop voting stupidly and begin cultivating worthwhile candidates by first becoming educated on the function of government. America’s form of government weeds out the Hillarys and Donalds, but only if voters understand the real duties of elected representatives and the true scope of government.
