Letter: Haler most qualified for state representative
I am voting for Larry Haler for District 8, position 2, because he is the most qualified for the job. He is a highly effective legislator who listens to all of us and acts in our behalf.
WSU Tri-Cities is now a four-year university because of the bill Larry sponsored. WSU has received funds for the Wine Science Center, the Bioproducts, Sciences and Engineering Laboratory, and the STARS program thanks to the efforts of Larry. He supported funding of the CBC-Kadlec nursing and human health sciences facility in Richland. Thanks to a bill sponsored by Larry, family medicine physicians can complete their residency programs locally.
He sponsored a bill that gave small wine grape growers and producers the same financial liens as major growers and producers, and a bill that decreased Energy NW production costs. He also secured funds for infrastructure at four new PNNL laboratories.
Recent ads in the Tri-City Herald reflect the numerous organizations that are endorsing him for re-election. I personally have worked with Larry for more than 20 years and firmly believe he is the most qualified to retain the legislative seat he now holds. The system is working and he is successfully doing the job for you, the people of the Tri-Cities.
Jerry Peltier, former mayor, city of West Richland
