Letter: Re-elect Justice Charlie Wiggins to state Supreme Court

As local current and retired judges, we urge voters to vote for the re-election of Justice Charlie Wiggins to our state Supreme Court, position 6. Throughout his distinguished career as an appellate attorney, court of appeals judge and Supreme Court Justice, he has been committed to judicial independence and integrity, and is a renowned scholar of the law.

Justice Wiggins has been endorsed by more than 200 current and retired judges, 25 state legislators, elected prosecutors of five counties, and numerous other local and state elected officials and leaders. He received the highest possible ratings by the King County Bar Association, Washington Women Lawyers, Latino/a Bar Association, and Joint Asian Judicial Committee.

He has such broad support because he is by far the most experienced candidate in the race. In addition to hearing more than 500 cases on the Supreme Court, Justice Wiggins argued hundreds of cases in front of the court as an appellate lawyer. His vast appellate experience is reflected in the clarity and reasoning of his opinions and in his careful adherence to state and federal constitutional provisions and principles.

Please join us in voting for Justice Wiggins this November.

Judge Dennis Yule (ret.), Judge Carrie Runge, Judge Dennis Sweeney, ret.), Judge Carolyn Brown, (ret.), Judge Philip Raekes, (ret.) Judge Craig Matheson, (ret.), Prosser
