Letter: Appalled GOP woman voting for Evan McMullin for president

Some voters are uncomfortable with our major party presidential candidates this year. If you feel some unease with either Mr. Trump or Mrs. Clinton or both, I would like to remind you that we have a young, decent, healthy, capable presidential candidate who stepped up at the last moment to offer the electorate a decent option. He is running a bare-bones campaign as an independent.

I am an appalled Republican woman who is voting for Evan McMullin. I am assuming there are a few million other American voters who would like an opportunity to select a decent leader as well. In the state of Washington it is necessary to write his name on our ballots to have our votes counted. This is an opportunity to see if the great American experiment is alive and well, and if an unknown candidate can rise out of total obscurity with no money, little media attention, and no political machinery to lead the free world simply because a few million American people decided to vote fearlessly for the good guy.
