Letter: Larry Haler is our voice in Olympia
We met Rep. Larry Haler at one of the coffees he has held for citizens. He listens to concerns, answers questions, and keeps in touch with the people of our district. He also opened the first legislative office in our district, going the extra mile to make state government services accessible.
A young father met with Rep. Haler. Resulting legislation protected a parent’s right to time with a child as granted by a court-ordered parenting plan. A county treasurer met with Rep. Haler. That meeting resulted in a payment plan that has been adopted by other counties in the state; citizens keep their homes and pay back taxes in installments — a win/win for everyone. A school board meeting with Larry Haler resulted in legislation that effectively ended the use of the WASL test. Cancer patients feared a bill would end the production of medical isotopes in Washington, but Larry Haler spoke with authority against it. The bill was defeated.
While we have not asked Haler to sponsor any legislation to address an issue we have with state government, we know he is our voice in Olympia. Join us and vote to re-elect him.
