Letter: Brad Peck is most qualified for Franklin County commissioner
I watched each day for my ballot, worrying about possible loss. While waiting, I made voting decisions based on constituent service. Only those who communicate receive my vote. This letter is to endorse one, Brad Peck. I do not want to see Franklin County lose the most qualified commissioner to serve on either side of the Columbia River.
Brad communicates with constituents, offers creative ideas based on experience and education, and defends citizen needs. Others place cooperation with Benton County commissioners or morale of county employees over desire of citizens. The county employee bubble can prevent knowledge of citizen desire and needs. Brad has even suggested examining how to make board meetings more accessible to citizens.
Most need to rely on the public record or the Tri-City Herald reporting to determine what actions are happening. Brad Peck strives to provide a complete record for citizens. Warrant signing comes with questions. Next we need accountability of money that comes through the county to quasi-government entities. Brad Peck has the skills to make this possible.
Matt Beaton, real estate appraiser, holds the premium skill set for auditor, so we should leave him at that position.
