Letter: Steve Simmons for state representative
I believe the Sept. 24 Tri-City Herald editorial endorsing Steve Simmons for state House 8th District detailed valid reasons for voting for Simmons.
Simmons’ opponent claims many overly exaggerated accomplishments for his 12 years in office. It’s easy to sign onto legislation introduced and claim success when someone else actually does the work to secure passage of the legislation. Only people closely involved in the process would know the truth. I encourage you to ask our community leaders about this.
Simmons is a proven community leader with his involvement in many local causes and initiatives. Simons can bring that proven leadership to our 8th district in the state House of Representatives.
As a small business owner, Simmons also understands how government can hurt or help small businesses. Simmons has testified in front of the Legislature for small businesses numerous times and brings credibility to the state House.
As someone who has served the citizens of Benton County for more than 20 years, I certainly understand what is needed in Olympia. Simmons brings those qualities required for effective leadership in Olympia. I will vote for Steve Simmons for the state House 8th District position and ask you to do the same.
