Letter: Rick Jansons for state representative

I have been honored to serve on the Richland School Board with Rick Jansons for the last five years. Rick demonstrates a caring and intelligent leadership style that fosters consent. He actively promotes input from different stakeholders to form the best decisions.

Rick does not have a personal agenda. Rather, he addresses issues from a rational and broad perspective. He is professional, polite, and has strong family values. His experience on the Legislative Council for the school directors association demonstrates his proven leadership abilities for working in the state Legislature.

Rick understands his oath to uphold the state Constitution, which states “it is the paramount duty of the Legislature to provide ample funds for basic education for all children.” The Legislature has not performed this duty. Rick has a plan on how to make this happen without raising taxes. He is committed to taking care of all students in Washington.

I have worked alongside with Rick for several years. I am excited about him being my state representative and bringing his values, energy, focus and leadership to the Legislature.

Please join me in voting Rick Jansons for state representative.

Rick Donahoe, Richland
