Letter: Peck is a leader for Franklin County

In this era of self-serving politicians, Franklin County is fortunate to have a strong leader and true public servant in Commissioner Brad Peck.

He strongly supports bi-county programs that are in the best interests of Franklin County, and speaks up when they are not!

He was the only commissioner who questioned Benton County when they claimed Franklin County owed them $665,000, the only commissioner who voted against the firing of a bi-county manager, and exposed multiple conflicts of interest in the hiring of a mental health consultant. He was right on all three issues.

The alleged debt turned out to be false. Brad saved Franklin County $665,000 this year alone.

The bi-county manager firing has us in an unnecessary, expensive lawsuit against both counties … exactly what Commissioner Peck predicted.

The multiple conflicts of interest were confirmed, leading the counties to hire a highly respected national mental health expert without compromising the integrity of the process.

Brad Peck has been the leader with the wisdom and political courage to stand up for the people of Franklin County.

I hope the voters realize how fortunate we are to have Commissioner Peck protecting our interests, and re-elect him in November.
