Letter: Steve Simmons for state representative
I have known Steve Simmons for 20 years and am honored to be his friend and supporter.
I have watched Steve grow from a tire store manager while advocating for the children of our community as a guardian ad litem to representing our community as chairman of the Tri-City Regional Chamber, Tri-City Legislative Council and Washington State Restaurant Association. Steve has also served on the boards of the United Way, Trios Planning Committee, Richland Public Facilities District and the Reach facility, all of which have been done on a volunteer basis. Steve spends much of his time during the legislative session taking the needs of our community and business to the Legislature.
Steve has been endorsed over his opponent by the Tri-City Herald Editorial Board, the mayors of Richland, West Richland, and Kennewick, Commissioners Jerome Delvin and Jim Beaver, past Commissioner Leo Bowman, Bill Lampson and many of our community leaders and citizens. Our community needs a leader who listens to constituents and elected leaders to make our voice heard in Olympia and make sure we have the projects needed to take us into the future. Steve has proven leadership.
Don Karger, Kennewick
