Letter: Huge thank you to people at retirement home
We live in a retirement home and while we were having dinner Sept. 28, my husband began to feel ill. As we were trying to help him up to use his cane, he needed assistance.
When I tried to help him, Phil, a 30-year volunteer fireman, came to our aid and calmly led us out to the lobby. Brian called 911 and Donna called our daughter.
My husband was in ICU nine days, then 3rd floor while waiting admittance to Avalon for care and therapy — to date three days of therapy and he is doing great.
Our friends at Charbonneau ask about him daily. What a godsend to live with such wonderful people.
Many thanks.
