Letter: Vote Steve Simmons for state representative

Steve Simmons has been a businessman in our community for over 35 years and has been involved in community activities. He has coached baseball and softball in community leagues, and taught Junior Achievement on business education programs at the local public schools.

He is a member of the Tri-Cities Sunrise Rotary and has participated in many community projects over the past 14 years. He is a past executive of the boards of the Tri-Cities Legislative Council, Tri-Cities Regional Chamber of Commerce and Visit Tri-Cities.

Steve and his wife, Shirley, have operated the Country Gentleman Restaurant for 20 years.

Steve would talk to the restaurant patrons to get their response as to the restaurant service and food quality.

He is a very personable person who listens to what the customer has to say and used that information to improve their business operation. He has helped our community immensely by stepping up when Meals on Wheels lost their cooking facilities. He offered his own kitchen facilities to prepare the many meals needed to support the organization.

His desire for community service, along with his leadership abilities, warrants a consideration to be voted to the state Legislature.
