Letter: What happens when we can’t afford government workers?
I wonder if anyone besides me has taken a look at the size of all government employment lately? Until July 1989, manufacturing employment was higher then all government employment. Today, there are 9 million more government employees than there are manufacturing employees.
If this trend keeps going, what happens when there are so many government workers we can’t afford them?
Do we all end up working for some government, getting health insurance from the government, getting all the permits and paper to live our lives from the government? Lots of things to consider. Where does it go, when does it stop?
