Letter: Unborn babies should have the right to live

The pursuit of happiness is to ensure that every one has a right to life and liberty. Since the 1973 Roe vs. Wade decision, when the right to have an abortion was legalized in the United States, many unborn humans have been killed through the process of abortion.

Isn’t the right to abortion denying the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness to those unborn babies? A human’s life begins at conception and human life is sacred, why if killing someone who is born and life is considered a crime why isn’t it when an unborn human is killed? It may seem they do not have a say but they do have the right to live. They should have the right to live.

It is understandable that a mother may not want her child, but abortion is not. There are other ways to go. Adoptions have been available and will continue to be available for those mothers who decide not to keep their child. Legalization of abortion should be rethought.

Does everyone actually get the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness?
