Fire weather watch for Eastern Washington for Saturday - enhanced fire threat

A fire weather watch was released by the NWS Spokane WA on Thursday at 10:06 a.m. valid for Saturday between noon and 9 p.m. The watch is for Colville Reservation, Okanogan Valley and Waterville Plateau.

"A weak wave moving into southern British Columbia Saturday will bring breezy southerly winds and a drying airmass to central Washington. Winds will remain breezy overnight into Sunday with fair to poor humidity recoveries. The National Weather Service in Spokane has issued a Fire Weather Watch for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from Saturday afternoon through Saturday evening. Affected Area: Colville Reservation (Zone 702), Okanogan Valley (Zone 703) and Waterville Plateau (Zone 706). Winds: Southwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. Relative Humidities: 12 to 21%. Impacts: Rapid fire spread is likely with any new or ongoing fires," adds the NWS.

This watch is in effect until Saturday at 9 p.m.
