Thunderstorms forecast for Tri-Cities. Temps could be hottest of the year

Thunderstorms are possible in the Tri-Cities from 5 to 11 p.m. Thursday, according to the National Weather Service forecast.

The chance of thunderstorms with scattered showers is about 33%, it said.

The high Thursday could be the hottest of the year to date for the Tri-Cities at 92 degrees. On three days so far this month the high has been as warm as 90.

Temperatures will cool Friday for three days with highs in the 70, before highs heat back up to 89 by Wednesday, June 3.

Sunny or mostly sunny days are forecast from Friday through at least the middle of the coming work week.
