Washington’s state waterfall creates an icy winter sculpture
Snow and ice covers the Palouse Falls in this photo shared by John Panther that he recently took during chilly December winter weather in Franklin County.
The Palouse River cascades nearly 200 feet through the basalt canyon about four miles upstream of the confluence with the Snake River.
The 94-acre Palouse Falls State Park is about 70 miles from Pasco.
It became the official state waterfall in 2014 after a group of Washtucna elementary students lobbied the Legislature.
