Tri-Cities forecast shows triple-digit highs as heat wave rolls in next week
Record high temperatures are expected for the Tri-Cities area over the next week, with Tuesday eclipsing the 100-degree mark, according to the National Weather Service.
The high temperature on Tuesday is expected to be around 102 degrees while Wednesday will see around 99 degrees, before slightly cooling to the low 90s by Friday, according to the forecast.
Here’s the seven-day forecast for Pasco:
- Monday: 99 degrees.
- Tuesday: 102 degrees.
- Wednesday: 99 degrees.
- Thursday: 93 degrees.
- Friday: 91 degrees.
The normal average July high temperature for the Tri-Cities area is around 91.4 degrees. So, while the high temperatures won’t set any records, they will be slightly above averages for this time of year.
Due to the high temperatures and fire danger, outdoor burning in Benton County has been outlawed except for permit-holding growers during approved hours and vegetation burning along fence lines, irrigation canals and drainage ditches, according to the Benton Clean Air Agency.
