High winds expected in Tri-Cities. Watch out for flying tumbleweeds

Tumbleweeds are going to blow and any remaining fall leaves are going to fly.

The Tri-Cities, along with most of the Mid-Columbia, is under a high wind advisory through 6 p.m. Saturday.

Sustained wind speeds of 25 mph and gusts up to 43 mph are forecast by the National Weather Service for most of the Tri-Cities.

Some higher or wind-prone areas near the Tri-Cities could see higher gusts.

The wind is expected to blow from the southwest, according to the National Weather Service.

The weather system will bring a slight chance of rain and warmer temperatures for the start of the weekend.

The high is forecast at 58 Saturday, dropping to 45 Sunday as skies clear.
