Freezing rain and fog — and possibly snow — in the Tri-Cities forecast

There’s chance of snow, a wintery mix with freezing rain and more freezing fog forecast for the Tri-Cities this week.

Patchy freezing fog is forecast to persist off and on through Wednesday morning, said the National Weather Service.

Early Wednesday evening the Tri-Cities could see some snow.

The chance of precipitation is 50 percent but any snow is expected to be less than a half inch above 1,000 feet.

It’s not likely to stick to the ground, as precipitation turns to a mix of rain, snow and freezing rain after dark, and then rain and freezing rain after 11 p.m. through 10 a.m. Thursday morning.

The chance of rain or freezing rain Thursday morning is 60 percent.

Warming weather will mean precipitation should fall as rain by Thursday afternoon, tamperting off to a slight chance on Sunday, according to the weather service.

Lows should be above freezing Thursday night through Saturday night in the Tri-Cities.

The chance of rain on Thursday is 60 percent, dropping to 40 percent Friday, with a chance of rain continuing through the weekend.
