Seattle waterfront will add Ben & Jerry's franchise at Pier 54
A Ben & Jerry's Scoop Shop is set to open on the revamped Seattle waterfront at Pier 54.
The location operated as a pop-up last summer and will do so again this summer before the launch of the full shop, according to a Friday news release announcing the lease.
The franchise owners, Lance and Moria Blair, plan to open another branch in Northgate; they also own Scoop Shops in Green Lake and Gig Harbor.
"As a Seattle native, the waterfront holds a special place in my heart," Lance Blair said in the release. "I could not be more excited to be a part of bringing Ben & Jerry's to Pier 54 and continue building connections with the local community while serving visitors from around the world."
The waterfront Ben & Jerry's replaces a location of Premier Meat Pies, which still operates at the Seattle Center Armory and in Renton.
The shop joins another new ice cream option on the waterfront: local chain Molly Moon's, which debuted in the historic Washington Street Boat Landing Pergola in May 2025.
And nearby, Salt & Straw opened a location across from Pike Place Market in November, for a total of seven branches around Puget Sound.
That Portland-based chain, which now has more than 50 outlets nationwide, is "currently in the early stages of exploring a capital transaction" to sell the brand, management confirmed to The Oregonian on Monday, with a reported company valuation of more than $200 million, according to recent reports from Reuters and Axios Portland.
