Seattle weather: Sunny skies, highs in the 70s Sunday

Seattle's It Couple, Sue Bird and Megan Rapinoe, may have called it quits, but at least the weather is uplifting this weekend.

The National Weather Service says the third weekend in April will be warm and sunny, with temperatures reaching low 70s at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. Saturday saw a high around 68. Highs could hit the mid-70s Sunday.

A high-pressure system has moved into the region from the west, bringing warmer temperatures in its carry-on, said Jeff Michalski, a meteorologist with the weather service in Seattle.

Michalski said there's nothing too extraordinary about the weekend forecast. No more surprises is just what fans of Rapinoe and Bird likely need as they scroll through the couple's pictures throughout the years.

Things will likely cool for a couple of days during the workweek, with highs around 60 degrees on Tuesday and Wednesday, paired with a chance of showers.
