Concrete School Board passes strategic plan

CONCRETE - The Concrete School Board approved the school district's strategic plan Thursday following 11 community input sessions held this spring.

The vision stated in the new five-year strategic plan is: "the Concrete School District encourages innovation, empowers students to build their own futures, and be positive community contributors."

The mission is: "the Concrete School District is dedicated to fostering whole student development through authentic, purposeful learning experiences within a welcoming community."

The strategic plan is visually represented on the document as a school standing on pillars and foundations.

The foundations are labeled as belonging, alignment, resourcefulness and growth. The pillars are labeled as student and staff well-being, teaching and learning, family and community engagement, and resource stewardship.

Eleven community input sessions, which included in-person and virtual options, were held leading up to the final plan. There were 161 people who took part in the process, and 75 submitted responses through emails and surveys.

That feedback, along with district and state data, helped the district's Strategic Planning Committee shape the final plan.

The board's next work session will be July 21, the next regular board meeting will be July 23 and a community forum will be held July 28 to discuss budget concerns.
