Water advisory removed for Bay View State Park
The state Department of Ecology announced Wednesday that Bay View State Park has reopened to water recreation.
Ecology's BEACH program had issued June 11 a no-contact warning for Bay View State Park after testing of the water showed high levels of bacteria.
The department had asked that the public avoid contact with the water.
Recent testing found that bacteria levels have decreased to safe levels, said Ecology.
The beach is now open to water activities such as swimming, kayaking, paddleboarding, beachcombing and wading.
Beach visitors can continue to protect themselves by washing their hands prior to eating, showering after swimming, and not swallowing beach water.
