Vancouver man gets 14 1/2 years in shooting of roommate

A Vancouver man was sentenced Wednesday to 14 1/2 years in prison for shooting his roommate multiple times outside a tobacco store with a semi-automatic rifle before riding away on a bicycle in March 2025.

Misael Ramon Dominguez-Naillon, 28, pleaded guilty May 13 in Clark County Superior Court to amended charges of second-degree attempted murder and third-degree assault. He was originally charged with first-degree attempted murder.

Judge Tsering Cornell sentenced Dominguez-Naillon to 174 months in prison, which included a 60-month firearm enhancement. Cornell noted that drugs and alcohol played a role in the shooting and ordered addiction therapy.

Vancouver police responded at 11:54 p.m. March 16, 2025, to multiple 911 callers who reported hearing gunshots near the Brookside 112 Apartments, 4619 N.E. 112th Ave., according to court records.

Officers responded and found a man, identified as Jordan R. Bottrell, had been shot multiple times. He was taken to a hospital for treatment, court records state. In court, a deputy prosecutor said Bottrell suffered gunshot wounds to the right femur and right forearm.

The shooting occurred near the south driveway entrance of the Beverage Tobacco Zone, 11320 N.E. 49th St., north of the apartments. The store's surveillance footage captured Dominguez-Naillon shooting Bottrell multiple times with what appeared to be a semi-automatic AR-15-style rifle, according to court records.

The video shows Bottrell falling to the ground, and Dominguez-Naillon riding away on a bicycle in the direction of the apartments just north of the area, court records state.

The deputy prosecutor said Dominguez-Naillon had gotten into an argument with his roommates, and at some point, chased down another roommate, identified in court records as Michelle Crites, and hit her with his bicycle.

Officers located Dominguez-Naillon at one of the apartment units, where he surrendered and was taken into custody, according to police.

A search of Dominguez-Naillon's apartment and another associated apartment by detectives from the Crime Reduction Team and Major Crimes Unit yielded multiple firearms, including the rifle believed to have been used in the shooting.
