Wenatchee Pride, partners announce month of June events across NCW
Wenatchee Pride and partner organizations, including Out NCW, Chelan Pride, NCW Equity Alliance and CAFE, are planning a series of events throughout June aimed at celebrating LGBTQ+ community members and fostering connection, visibility and support.
The month began June 5 with a Pride Kickoff event at Yonder East Taproom.
Regional celebrations continued June 6 with the fifth annual Chelan Pride Festival at Riverwalk Park in Chelan. The festival is scheduled from noon to 4 p.m. and will feature entertainment, community gathering opportunities and local organizations.
Baseball fans have an opportunity to celebrate June 10 during Pride Night with the AppleSox at Paul Thomas Sr. Field. Representatives from Out NCW, CAFE and Wenatchee Pride will be on hand with information and resources.
A photo pop-up event with photographer Casey Orr is planned for June 12 at Artworx.
On June 19, Wenatchee Pride will host its Out Loud Comedy Show at Ground Control. Additional details are expected to be announced closer to the event.
The largest event of the month will be the Wenatchee Pride Festival on June 20 at Lincoln Park. The festival will run from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and feature vendors, community organizations, entertainment and activities. The celebration will continue that evening with Queer Prom at Ground Control.
Youth-focused programming also is planned. Wenatchee Pride's monthly Teen Night will take place June 26 at The Time Capsule.
The month continues June 27 with Bowl With Pride at Eastmont Lanes.
Pride Month activities conclude June 28 with the Methow Pride Protest and Festival at Twisp Commons Park and TwispWorks in Twisp.
In a social media post announcing the schedule, Wenatchee Pride thanked community members for their support and encouraged participation throughout the month.
"Thank you to everyone who has shown us so much love and support," the organization wrote. "It's been incredible to see our community come together."
