Fire burning near Chelan

A wildfire spotted 1.5 miles south of Chelan Falls has grown to 3, 000 acres.

Around 10 a.m., a vegetation fire was reported.

The fire has grown in size from about five acres in the first hour to 3,000 acres as of 4:20 p.m., according to the Central Washington Interagency Communications Center.

The fire is still active and additional air resources have been ordered, according to Watch Duty.

A Level 1 advisory was issued about 3:45 p.m., according to Chelan County Emergency Management.

The cause of the fire has not been identified.
