The foundation gave out a total of $62,000 at a recent banquet, according to a notice from the organization.

The Mark Morris Foundation was created in 2008 in honor of the 50th anniversary of the school, and is an independent nonprofit that accepts tax-deductible donations to benefit Mark Morris students.

It manages additional scholarships on behalf of donors. Those interested in creating a scholarship can email markmorrisfoundation@gmail.com.

The foundation also raises money for projects - like the high school gym's air conditioning, new school trophy cases and district landscaping - that are too big for the booster club but may not fit in the school district's budget.
