Application deadline for Disaster Unemployment Assistance related to December flooding is June 10

The federal government recently authorized additional disaster support resources for workers impacted by record flooding throughout Washington state Dec. 5 through 19, 2025.

Eligible workers, including self-employed people who became unemployed due to the December floods but do not otherwise qualify for unemployment benefits, may qualify for Disaster Unemployment Assistance, according to a news release.

The deadline to apply is Wednesday, June 10.

The presidential major disaster declaration included 10 counties in Washington: Chelan, Grays Harbor, King, Lewis, Pacific, Pierce, Skagit, Snohomish, Thurston and Whatcom.

Affected workers from the Confederated Tribes of the Chehalis Reservation, Lummi Nation, Muckleshoot Indian Tribe, Nisqually Indian Tribe, Nooksack Indian Tribe, Puyallup Tribe, Quinault Indian Nation, Samish Indian Nation, Sauk-Suiattle Indian Tribe, Shoalwater Bay Indian Tribe, Snoqualmie Indian Tribe, Squaxin Island Tribe, Stillaguamish Tribe of Indians, Swinomish Indian Tribal Community, Tulalip Tribes and the Upper Skagit Indian Tribe may also apply.
