New congressional candidate to visit Centralia
Troy Rasband, a last-minute addition to the race to become the representative for Washington's Third Congressional District, will hold a question-and-answer session in Centralia.
The Rasband campaign announced a Centralia event titled "Get Your Qs A'ed."
The event scheduled for Wednesday, June 17, will start at 5 p.m. at the Centralia Timberland Library.
The event is open to all voters and intended to promote active engagement with Rasband.
"The biggest part of this job is to sit down and listen," Rasband said in the announcement. "Public service is about giving everyone at the table a chance to be heard."
Rasband is one of the lesser known candidates to file for the Southwest Washington congressional seat currently held by U.S. Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, D-Skamania. He filed for the ballot as a Democrat and used a Vancouver address during candidate filing week early last month.
Rasband has not reported any fundraising so far to the Federal Elections Commission (FEC), suggesting that he did not raise any campaign funds through March 2026. He is one of three candidates for the congressional seat to be registered with the FEC but not report any fundraising.
According to his campaign website, Rasband is running on the goal of implementing Medicare for all in the U.S.
