The following are criminal cases heard recently in Skagit County Superior Court:

DRUGS

A 41-year-old Mount Vernon woman was sentenced to three months in jail Monday after pleading guilty to possession of a controlled substance and possession of a dangerous weapon.

According to court records, on Aug. 28, 2025, Adriana Araceli Aivles was found to be in possession of methamphetamine, cocaine and counterfeit Percocet pills that contained fentanyl.

When she was taken into custody, Aivles was found to be in possession of a spring pocketknife. Spring pocketknives are illegal.

In exchange for her guilty plea, Aivles had a third charge dropped.

ASSAULT, BURGLARY

A 31-year-old Mount Vernon man was sentenced to five months in jail Monday after pleading guilty to residential burglary and fourth-degree assault.

According to court records, on Oct. 24, 2025, Felipe Lopez-Garcia forced his way into the home of a Mount Vernon woman.

Once inside, he grabbed her and threw her onto the couch.

In exchange for his guilty plea, Lopez-Garcia had two other charges dropped.
