Motorcyclist dies after veering off road, crashing in Yacolt area

May 28-A motorcyclist has died after crashing Wednesday into roadside vegetation in the Yacolt area, according to the Clark County Sheriff's Office.

Emergency responders from Clark County Fire District 13, North Country EMS and the sheriff's office were dispatched at 6:39 p.m. to the 25200 block of Northeast Worthington Road. First responders found the rider in critical condition. The rider was airlifted by LifeFlight to a local hospital, where they later succumbed to their injuries, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.

Authorities have not yet released the identity of the motorcyclist.

The sheriff's office traffic homicide unit is investigating the cause of the crash. Preliminary findings indicate the motorcyclist was traveling south when the motorcycle veered off the road on a curve and struck vegetation on the shoulder, according to the news release.
