Missing man found deceased near Summer Falls
May 26-COULEE CITY - Investigators from the Grant County Sheriff's Office have recovered the body of Anthony Mann, 39, of Coulee City Sunday morning. Grant County Coronor Craig Morrison confirmed the identity of the victim after he conducted an autopsy.
"The cause of death is asphyxia due to drowning, and the manner of death is an accident," Morrison said.
Mann was reported missing May 15 from Moses Lake.
"We all hope that there would have been a happier ending, but we hope that finding his body and bringing him home helps to bring some comfort to his loved ones," GCSO Public Information Officer Kyle Foreman said.
Mann's vehicle was found unoccupied three days after he was reported missing near Trail Lake, according to Foreman.
"After we found the vehicle, deputies and searchers were on horseback and ORV's for two days and also using drones to search the area around Trail Lake. Neither day did they find any sign of Anthony Mann," Foreman said.
Investigators continued to check the area periodically throughout the rest of the week looking for signs of Mann, according to Foreman.
On Sunday night, a person found the body at the top of Summer Falls and reported it at about 7 p.m.
"He was found around five miles downstream from where his vehicle was found and his vehicle was found next to Trail Lake, next to a main irrigation canal," Foreman said.
Mann's family was notified Monday morning, according to GCSO.
