June 5, 12 and 26 (Fridays): Preschool storytime - 11 a.m.

Half an hour of stories, songs, rhymes, and fun. This program is designed for preschool-age children and their adult caregivers.

June 11: Summer Library Program Opener - 3-5 p.m.

Now that school's out, sign up for the Summer Library Program and play a board game or two.

June 16: Kids' Crafternoon - 3 p.m.

Crafters will kick off summer by using egg cartons to create stunning flowers.

June 18: YA Makers - Beeswax Candles - 3 p.m.

This fun and hands on craft is fun for all ages and produces a useful item that teens will love. For patrons 11 and older.

June 24: STEM Wednesdays - 3-4 p.m.

Learn about the way gardens come together and take the opportunity to create a plan for your own. If you love to plan, have interests in landscape or other design fields, stop by the library and plant a seed.

June 16: Kids' Crafternoon - 3 p.m.

Do you like a fluffy white sheep? Do you think your pig should be blue? Are polka dots the new style for cows? Come and decorate your farmyard friend any way you want.

June 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 (Tuesdays): Summer Storytime and Craft - 10:30-11:30 a.m.

Stories, movement, rhymes, songs, and fun, finishing up with a craft. This storytime is geared toward preschool through elementary school-aged children, but older and younger children and their grownups are welcome. Note: This activity will be held at the Ephrata Rec Center, 112 Basin St. SW.

June 4: A.T.L.A.S. - At The Library After School - 3:30-5 p.m.

Children in grades K-6 are invited to explore building with fun materials like KEVA Planks, LEGO bricks, and even cardboard, using special tools from Makedo.

June 5, 12 and 26 (Fridays): Sit and Stitch - 1:30 p.m.

All ages and skill levels are welcome to share techniques, tips, patterns, and yarn. Crochet kits are available for checkout as well as hundreds of print and digital crochet books and magazines.

June 5, 12 and 26 (Fridays): Free Movie Fridays in June - 2 p.m.

Free movies for the last few weeks before the library's remodel. All films are rated G or PG and are family-friendly.

June 2 and 9: Open Worlds, Open Minds: Virtual TTRPG for Middle Schoolers - 4 p.m.

Fun, beginner-friendly virtual tabletop role-playing game campaign designed especially for middle school adventurers. Over 3-4 weekly sessions, participants will develop their own unique characters, work together to explore a fantasy world and solve creative challenges. No prior experience is needed, just imagination and a willingness to collaborate. This program offers a welcoming space for neurodivergent players and students with disabilities, encouraging teamwork, problem-solving, and social connection in an accessible online environment. Activities for the whole family, including reading, crafting, games, and more. Note that June 19 activities are moved to June 18.

June 26: Bring Your Own Book Club - 5 p.m.

Readers meet and have a guided discussion about participants' various books and maybe discover a new book or genre.

Librarians will read stories in both English and Spanish and share culture and insights, teach simple words and phrases, and share an added activity or craft. Storytimes are geared towards preschool-age children and their families, but everyone is welcome.

June 13: Floral Pen DIY - 12 p.m.

Kids will assemble their own very fancy writing utensil to pen their next best-selling short story, draw their next masterpiece, or write a new diabolical diary entry.

June 2, 9, 16 and 23 (Tuesdays): Chubby Unicorn Month - 4 p.m.

Free unicorn-themed crafts while supplies last.

June 3 and 17: Stitch & Whinge Needle Craft Group - 4-5 p.m.

For those who have experience or those looking to learn knitting, crochet, cross stitch, embroidery, hand-quilting and other post-apocalyptic life skills. Ages 18 and older.

June 4, 11, 18 and 25 (Thursdays): Adults with Special Needs Storytime - 10:30 a.m.

Weekly storytime with songs and crafts.

June 4, 11, 18 and 25 (Thursdays): Switch Gaming - 4 p.m.

Join other enthusiasts for gaming on the Nintendo Switch. A variety of games and controllers will be provided by the library.

June 5: LEGOs at the Library - 4:30 p.m.

Teens and tweens are invited to play and build with LEGOs.

June 5: Bilingual Storytime - 10:30 a.m.

Story in Spanish and English. Twice the languages, double the fun.

June 6 and 13: Creative Writing Series - 2:30 p.m.

Whether you're new to writing or a published author, this writing group is for you. Program includes weekly prompts, writing topics and sharing work, and will evolve to fit the group's interests, including plot structure, character development, getting started, writer's block, editing, critiquing and more.

June 9: Storytime with Valor - 10:30 a.m.

Enjoy a story with Kids Hope comfort dog Valor.

June 12: Sensory Storytime: - 10:30 a.m.

For children 3-7 years old with sensory needs. This storytime is especially welcoming to neurodivergent children and their families, with stories, songs, and play.

June 12: Adult Book Club - 5 p.m.

Young adults and seniors meet to discuss books chosen by the members in an open-forum conversation.

June 15: Gays Reading Books Silent Book Club - 4 p.m.

In celebration of Pride Month, bring yourself and your book of choice. Queer folk and allies welcome. Not sure what to read at the silent book club? Browse the stacks or ask a librarian for recommendations! Come enjoy an inclusive environment, designed to support LGBTQ+ individuals and allies, while reading in quiet companionship.

June 22: Learn to Sew - 3 p.m.

Tweens and teens will make an emotional support chicken. All supplies will be provided while they last.

June 24: Moses Lake Public Library Foundation Meeting - 5 p.m.

This group is currently working to develop designs and raise funds for improvements to our public library facilities.

June 25: What the Smut?! Romance Book Club - 6:30 p.m.

Book discussion for adults over 21 only.

June 26: Fire Department Storytime - 10:30 a.m.

Preschool storytime and fire safety presentation by the City of Moses Lake Fire Department.

June 26: Hula Hoop with Hillia Hula - 4 p.m.

Join Hillia Hula for an energetic and interactive multi-hula hoop performance and hands-on workshop. Participants of all ages can learn beginner-friendly hoop moves through play. Note: This program is at Doolittle Dream Park on the corner of Patton Boulevard and Doolittle Drive. There are no restrooms at the park, so please plan accordingly.

Little explorers are invited to stomp, stretch, and search during this dino-themed preschool adventure. Children will hunt for hidden dinosaur eggs using their observation skills to spot colors, shapes, and simple patterns along the way. This program is designed for children ages 3-5.

June 1, 15 and 29: LEGO Club - 5 p.m.

Participate in fun, creative building experiences and meet other LEGO fans. Blocks will be provided.

June 3, 10, 17 and 24 (Wednesdays): Preschool Storytime - 11 a.m.

Stories, songs, movement and play for children 0-5.

June 4: Prehistoric Flood Guide - 3 p.m.

Unleash your inner scientist with a dinosaur field journal you can add to all summer long. Kids will create and organize a dinosaur information journal to inspire curiosity and keep learning all summer. This program is designed for children ages 6-12.

June 5 and 26: DIY Crochet Club - 4 p.m.

Hands-on opportunity for adults to explore a new hobby, create unique projects, and connect with fellow craft enthusiasts. Supplies provided.

June 8: Play-Doh Fossils - 11 a.m.

Kids develop fine motor skills and work to identify key skeletal elements through play. This program is designed for children ages 3-5.

June 8: Creative Kids - Play-Doh Art - 5 p.m.

Kids will explore their creativity, learn new skills, and create one-of-a kind projects to take home.

June 11: Clay Fossils - 11 a.m.

Learn how prehistoric life left their mark on the world by examining trace fossils before creating your own model fossil. This program is designed for children ages 6-8.

June 15: Reptile Lady - 11 a.m.

Get up close with exotic creatures. Note: This event will take place at Kiwanis Park in Othello.

June 18: Dino-Rama - 3 p.m.

Stomp on over and create a one-of-a-kind habitat for your new dino friend. Kids will build a diorama, learn about environments to craft a habitat, and build a mini brick dino. This program is designed for children ages 9-12.

June 20: Bilingual Storytime - 1:30 p.m.

Vibrant, language-rich experience designed to prepare children for kindergarten while introducing or reinforcing Spanish and English language skills. For families with children of all ages.

June 22: Little Drummers - 11 a.m.

Celebrate the USA's 250th birthday with a fun, hands-on music and craft program for preschoolers. Children will design their own red, white, and blue drums while building fine motor skills, then use their instruments to explore rhythm, sound, and patriotic fun. This program is designed for children ages 3-5.

June 22: Creative Kids - Paint with Magnets

Kids will explore their creativity, learn new skills, and create one-of-a kind projects to take home.

June 25: Dinosaur Democracy - 3 p.m.

Thomas Jefferaptor vs. John Quinceratops Adams? Learn about the democratic process by making campaign posters for your favorite dinosaur and then cast your ballot to see which dinosaur will win. This program is designed for children ages 9-12.

Joyful stories, silly songs, movement fun, and a hands-on craft or coloring activity for children 1-11 and their grownups.

June 11: Grant County Health District Mobile Outreach - 1:30-3 p.m.

Education, resources, preventative care, and other types of support for those who may be in high-risk settings. Free hygiene materials, CPR face shields, Narcan, sharps containers, wound care, hand sanitizer, emergency blankets, seasonal warming materials, socks, condoms, and feminine products.

June 11: Latino Civic Alliance Community Outreach - 1:30 p.m.

Valuable information, resources and support, as well as information about LCA programs for youth, parents and families and small businesses.

June 16, 23 and 30: Crafternoon for Kids - 2:30 p.m.

Each week features a brand-new craft, with all supplies provided. Kids can create and explore their imaginations in a welcoming, and safe space. Crafts are geared toward school-aged kids, but younger children are welcome too.

June 17: Kids Bingo - 2:30 p.m.

Shake up your day with a lively game where fun comes first and surprises await. Bingo winners will score mystery prize grab bags, but everyone is guaranteed a good time in this friendly, low-stakes game.
