Memorial Day events across Wenatchee Valley, surrounding communities
As Memorial Day approaches, several events are planned throughout the Wenatchee Valley and surrounding communities to honor service members who died while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces.

Flag placement at Wenatchee Cemetery: American Legion Post 10 will host its annual placement of American flags at veterans gravesites in Wenatchee on Friday at 7 a.m. ahead of Memorial Day.

Veterans grave flag placement in Ephrata: Volunteers are invited to help place American flags and white crosses on veterans graves at Ephrata Cemetery on Friday at 4 p.m. Volunteers also will help remove the flags Monday at 4 p.m.
* Wenatchee Memorial Day ceremony: American Legion Post 10 is holding a ceremony at the Wenatchee Cemetery at 10 a.m.
* Wreath Laying: Wreath-laying ceremony behind Pybus Public Market at the boat launch parking lot, with a wreath laid in the water.
* Memorial Day cemetery ceremonies: Ceremonies are scheduled Monday in Soap Lake at 10 a.m., Ephrata at 11 a.m. and Quincy at 12:30 p.m. Organizers are also encouraging residents to participate in the National Moment of Remembrance at 3 p.m. by pausing for one minute to honor fallen service members.

Chelan Memorial Day Parade: The annual parade in Chelan begins at 7 p.m. Memorial Day along Woodin Avenue. The event features veterans organizations, marching bands, fire trucks and community floats as residents and visitors gather downtown to observe the holiday.
* Thunder on the Columbia: The annual motorcycle memorial ride will stop in Ephrata on Sunday from 10:05 to 11:15 a.m. at the American Legion Hall. The ride honors fallen service members while raising awareness about veteran suicide prevention and supporting veterans homes in Washington and Oregon.
