The victim told police that Jeremy J. Nance, 48, of an unknown location, looked like the devil when he made the threats in March, according to Cowlitz County Superior Court records.
Nance's attorney filed a motion for a continuance on May 8, stating that both parties have been working toward a resolution but needed additional time to either resolve the matter or prepare for the trial.
He was arrested on March 20 and formally charged with felony harassment about five days later.
Officers were dispatched at about 5:35 p.m. to a residence in the Olympic West neighborhood due to a report of threats, according to the police report that led to Nance's arrest.
The victim, who knew Nance, told police that after killing the family, he said he would "blow his brains out" once the police arrived, the report states. The victim told the police that she believed the threats.
Nance was yelling her name as he was making his way down the residential street.
A witness told the police that he could hear Nance yelling from down the street that he was going to "kill the family."
Nance was described as being "visibly under the influence of an illegal narcotic," and was "very paranoid about our (police) presence," the police report states.
Nance has a lengthy criminal record that includes convictions for assault and violating protection orders.
He posted his $15,000 bond last week.
