26-year-old died from crash on Bunker Creek Road, sheriff's office confirms
A 26-year-old Centralia man died last week following a two-vehicle collision on Bunker Creek Road, the Lewis County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) has confirmed.
According to LCSO, Jakob Kendall was driving in the 600 block of Bunker Creek Road at about 4:27 p.m. April 20 when his vehicle entered the opposite lane, causing a head-on collision.
Kendall died following the incident.
The other driver was transported to Providence Centralia Hospital with unknown injuries at the time, according to LCSO.
An online fundraiser has since launched to help the Kendall family pay for final expenses.
"Our son, Jakob Kendall, has returned home to the arms of Jesus after a tragic car accident," the page reads. "He was just 26 years old. Jakob was an amazing kid who loved others, served willingly, and always tried to do what was right. Animals spoke to his soul, and I bet he's rejoicing to be with some of his four-legged besties."
As of press time, the fundraiser had reached roughly $5,500 of its $15,000 goal.
"Our finances are tight, and the expenses for his final resting place are overwhelming," the page reads. "We would appreciate any help you can provide during this difficult time."
A celebration of life service is scheduled for 2 p.m., Saturday, May 16, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 2195 Jackson Highway, Chehalis.
