Eight Centralia High School seniors win state academic honors

Eight Centralia High School seniors were recently recognized with a 2026 Washington State Honors Award, according to a news release from the Centralia School District.

The award, given by the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI), honors students who rank in the top 10% of the state's graduating class.

This year's CHS recipients are: Satsuki Bringman, Skyla J. Denton, Kycen D. Donahue, Lillian M. Ferch, Owen J. Sharp, Brooklyn M. Sprague, Evan N. Thummel and Isaac E. Wallace.

The awardees will be presented with certificates during their graduation ceremony on June 5.

"Recipients demonstrate high performance in both English Language Arts and mathematics, maintain outstanding grade point averages, and complete rigorous coursework aligned with college- and career-ready standards," the release says.

According to the release, qualifying students must complete at least 75% of their graduation requirements, enroll in core academic courses during their senior year and earn the GPA threshold established by OSPI.

Running Start students are also eligible.

"Centralia High School congratulates these outstanding seniors on this remarkable accomplishment and looks forward to celebrating their continued success beyond graduation," the release says.
