Pangborn Memorial Airport flight to Portland starts in October

Flyers out of the Pangborn Memorial Airport may enjoy a nonstop flight to Portland starting in October.

The Chelan-Douglas Regional Port Authority announced Wednesday that Horizon Air, a regional subsidiary of Alaska Airlines, would be providing one flight a day between Wenatchee and Portland starting Oct. 3.

Additional connections would be available from the Portland International Airport for flyers out of Pangborn, according to a port authority news release. Passengers will be able to book flights through the Alaska Airlines website and mobile app.

The airport is currently operated by the two-county port authority and currently has daily trips to the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport through Alaska Airlines.

"This new route is an exciting step forward for our region," said Port of Chelan Commissioner JC Baldwin, in the news release. "Direct service to Portland enhances mobility for residents, supports local businesses and strengthens our ability to attract visitors and investment to Chelan and Douglas counties."
