Two people wounded Monday in central Vancouver drive-by shooting

A drive-by shooting Monday night in central Vancouver wounded two people, leaving one with life-threatening injuries, according to a news release from the Vancouver Police Department.

Police have not arrested the shooter.

Officers responded to the shooting about 8:30 p.m. near the intersection of Northeast 18th Street and Andresen Road. There, they found one man with a gunshot wound that was determined to be not life threatening, according to the news release. He was taken to a local hospital for evaluation.

Police found several shell casings and a gun at the scene, the news release states.

Roughly a half-hour later, a second gunshot victim arrived at a local hospital with a life-threatening injury, according to the news release.

Police have not released the names of the two victims or any suspect information at this time.

The Vancouver Police Department's Major Crimes Unit is investigating. Police closed off surrounding roads during the investigation.
